Books: Already Dead by Charlie Huston

If you’ve looked to the right and checked some of my current favorite authors you probably won’t be at all surprised to see this book got a random pick from my vast library.

Already Dead

By Charlie Huston

Type: Fiction Novel

Genre: Pulp/Noir

Charlie Huston’s, Already Dead, is a rather different sort of vampire novel. The main character is Joe Pitt, a man infected with” the vyrus” that has made him a vampyre. He finds himself trapped between the most powerful vampyre groups in Manhattan when he’s hired to find a little rich girl, who’s gone and run off.

Joe Pitt is a character that is certainly no classic good guy. He’s one out for self-preservation, and occasionally does what he thinks is the right thing. He’s gritty and gruff and a smart-ass who refuses to believe in the supernatural despite some strange occurrences.

I happen to love Charlie Huston’s work, the Joe Pitt series in particular. The formatting of the novels is a bit different than what is traditionally seen, but well worth getting use to for these reads.

You won’t see me give out many of these but this book gets 5 hearts.
