Multi-Author Giveaway: Special Someone Celebration

Sunday was a special day for me. Hubby and I celebrated out 18th anniversary. It’s hard to believe that my kids are  grown (or almost grown) and 18 years have passed since we decided to tie the knot and give this marriage thing a shot.

I don’t regret it, not one bit.

He’s been a great husband and father, a good friend and lover. We’ve had our ups and some major downs but we somehow made it through. After 18 years I can’t imagine being without him, he really is my other half and I adore him. He makes me laugh, he’s loyal beyond measure, and has the best smile in the world. I love him dearly.

This Sunday is also Mother’s Day, and because of these two fantastic days. I’ve decided to do a special sort of giveaway. A few friends have kindly donated books to celebrate the upcoming holiday.

Kathleen Scott, a great fantasy romance author, is giving away her book Private Negotiations. 1st book in her Planet Scicia series. A great series of books here.

Private Negotiations by Kathleen Scott

Fantasy Romance

For the past ten years, war has ravaged the planet of Scicia. The countries of Telesia and Vanden have painted the land with the blood of their people, neither side coming out the clear victor. The recent death of the Vanden Regent has brought his heir to the throne and with it a new chance for peace. That is, if the memories of an illicit love and a false identity do not derail the process first.

Vanden Regent, Loden Espacian has waited a long time to claim Rinalda D’Aubry as his bride. Four years before, on a mission to Presari Station, Loden attempted to seduce secrets from the Telesian Chancellor’s beautiful daughter. His quest failed when she did not divulge even so much as her family ties and Loden fell helplessly in love. Now, the war has taken a terrible toll on Vanden’s resources. With his country on the verge of collapse, Rinalda is within the walls of his palace as the Telesian peace emissary. The only chance for Loden to save his country is to find a way back to Rinalda’s good graces and once again win her heart.

When Sergeant Rinalda D’Aubry agreed with her father’s plan of going to Vanden as the emissary in a peace envoy, she had no idea she’d come face to face with the man she thought was lost to a wartime romance. Dreams of him have sustained her during some of her worst days and nights, fighting in a bloody war of her father’s making. The man she remembers was a common foot soldier, not the heir to the Vanden throne. Betrayed and humiliated, Rinalda vows to rise above her broken heart to save both countries from destruction, before it’s too late. But memories of their passionate love making threaten to ignite the air between them, and burn all who stand in the way.

Everlong by Hailey Edwards

Fantasy Romance

The most damaged heart can fly with the right pair of wings.

Madelyn’s life is far from fairytale perfect. She is second in line for the throne of a corrupt, brutal monarchy. Or at least she was until her dark guardian sacrificed his life to hide her safely in a realm of infinite possibilities.

For years she’s lived among a colony of escaped slaves as her guardian’s widow. Even in this simple life, though, nothing is as it seems. Her hero kept a secret—a younger brother named Clayton Delaney. Warrior, winged demon…and the man who now wants to lay claim to her heart.

No longer cast in his brother’s shadow, Clayton meets all obstacles head on, including one named Maddie. His infatuation with her reaches the breaking point when she undergoes a royal rite of passage, going into heat and pushing them both over the edge.

Just as Maddie learns that some risks are worth taking, she discovers that her guardian may be alive. And she’s forced to make a choice between the man she’d thought she loved, and the demon willing to lend her his wings.

Inez Kelley who touches on more romance sub-genre than anyone else I know has been kind enough to donate the first two books in her fantasy series. Great friend and finalist in the EPIC’s Ebook award (2010).

Myla By Moonlight

MAGIC BITES…and its name is Myla.

Created at Prince Taric’s birth, Myla is a spell, an enchantment designed to appear and protect him when he needs it most. She has always been content to do her duty…until one night of forbidden passion leaves her longing to experience life—and love—as a mortal woman. Yet the risk is too great. Even if her blood runs as red as his, she can never give him the one thing he needs: a child.

Taric’s blessing—and his curse—is knowing the kingdom’s future depends on his producing an heir to continue the bloodline. His bond with Myla has always been that of protector and protected. When it suddenly becomes something much more, he unwittingly sentences his people to certain death.

An old enemy is plotting to destroy all he holds dear: his lands, his people, his father, and his lover. And this time, even if they fight tooth and blade, their shared magic may not be enough to save them…

Salome At Sunrise

It’s not nice to piss off Mother Nature…

Bryton Haruk sets out on a suicide mission to stop the bloodthirsty Skullmen from terrorizing the war-weary Land of Eldwyn. Consumed by guilt over the death of his wife, Bryton seeks revenge and reunion in the afterlife with his lost love. His purpose is determined, his bravery unmatched, until the queen casts a spell to save Bryton from himself.

Salome is that spell. A bird-shifter, she can harness the earth’s breeze and take the form of a beautiful, innocent woman. Her challenge is to harness Bryton’s pain and guide him to peace. She entrances and irritates him, tempting Bryton from his mission. Even as he gives in to the passion between them, Bryton insists on mounting a solo attack on the brigands’ compound, and Salome fears her love won’t be enough to save him…

  1. Wow 🙂 Congrats on your 18th Anniversary Chris! Love ya!

Er…. now to spill some secrets 😉 My DH doesn’t like garlic..but I, in turn, love it 😉 Hence when I put some in the dishes, he sometimes complains about the fried smell *ahem*, but whatever I put on his place – he silently eats. Only condition 😉 A movie is required while eating..LOL!

And since we share a computer, I lose whatever time I have to write..Grrr (that’s a different story) 😉

Scratching head to choose which book…umm… yours? VL’s? Margie’s? Seriously..I might choose everyone’s 😉 So let me stop making a wishlist here..LOL!

  2. Oh man! I want one of Margie’s books or Hailey’s… I have the rest!!! Such a great selection. Happy anniversary again, hon.

  3. Katherine

    Happy Anniversary!

  4. Happy anniversary! I’ve known my best friend for over half our lives now, and she still understands me, lifts me higher, and exasperates me. I love her, and I hope to continue our friendship for as long as we can.

I’d love either of the Inez Kelley books, please!

  5. Happy Anniversary! My boyfriend is the special person in my life. I honestly don’t know where I would be without him. He picks me up when I’m down, he comforts me, and he always lets me buy books even when I shouldn’t. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for him.

I would love to win: Something Unexpected by Miranda Heart, Everlong by Hailey Edwards, Dunham Series by Moriah Jovan, or Private Negotiations by Kathleen Scott.

  6. Joyce Zahariades

Something Unexpected ~ that’s the book I would choose. The something unexpected in my life is the wonderful relationship I have with my 17 (almost 18) year old daughter. Not only has she turned into a lovely young adult, she has become a very special friend to me. Who would have thought?!

  7. kyrias

It’d have to be my boyfriend — he’s sweet, funny, sarcastic, and a hysterically funny troll. I don’t think I would have gotten through college without him and his support. My parents were half a world away, besides which they never really understood anyways and so he was the only rock that kept me from just giving in.

Would love the Kathleen Scott book or the Dunham series.

  8. I noticed you didn’t hyperlink to Magdalene so here it is. http://moriahjovan.com/mojo/magdalene-is-here

  9. Dawn

First of all it is inspirational for us single peeps to see a marriage last for years through all those ups and downs. I have 2 special peeps, my boys. Yeah they can drive me insane, but at the same time they are the joy of my life. Just a simple mommy I love you or picking a wildflower and bringing it home to me makes me smile. It is those simple things that makes a day worth while :).

As for choosing a book…….*blinks* you expect us to do that? While I agree Hailey is err sweet I think you said her book is the only one I have 😀 so for those of you that havn’t read it you should nab it. It is a good read. If I were to choose I think I’d be greedy and say I want the Dunham Series by Moriah Jovan. It actually did intrigue me the most. 😀 I will say though that I will gladly accept anything you would happen to give me, including a 5 dollar gift card to Samhaim.

    thanks and Happy Anniversary

  10. I would love to read myla by moonlight.

The person who is so important to me is my mom. We didn’t always see eye to eye when I was growing up but she raised me As a single parent and did great. She is so strong because she became a captain on an all male policenforce while being a woman and a lesbian. I now have a husband and three beautiful daughters of my own and she is still supportive and wonderful. She is so dedicated to her family that she pays her moms bills, has helped me with college and is always there to talk. We have the best relationship ever now and I love her so much. I very lucky to have such a great woman as a mom. She taught me to be strong, work hard, and never give up. I’m now on my third degree which will be in nuclear medicine and couldnt have asked to be luckier. Thanks!
