This week has been long and exhausting. I finished second round edits of my In the Heart of Darkness wip this week, wrote a synopsis and managed to shoot all that to my CPs. I think I scared one into reaching for her Sponge Bob pillow, this is a good thing when it comes to horror romance. If she starts claiming I gave her nightmares I’ll count that as a plus. Though, she may never CP for me again. I’m hoping that never happens.
So after all that, my brain went on strike. Picket signs, shouting, and I swear, I heard it call my muse a scab when it tried to peek over the lines. I read a couple of books but it’s still giving me dirty looks for overworking it. I’m hoping by this weekend its satisfied with the break and lets me get back to work. I don’t have much time left to get this polished for submission, not to mention the contest at Passionate Reads. The polls are still open, if you want to check it out. You can vote for more than one, but can only hit the vote button once, so take the time to read the entries and pick the ones you like best.
Ah, but I digress. My picketing brain and its evil need for rest has made other things besides editing a chore. Wrote a check yesterday, three times. Apparently the word ‘hundred’ can be spelled wrong, by me, three times before I get it right. Don’t ask me how, I honestly can spell hundred, I swear. Well, actually once I didn’t spell it wrong, I just forget to put hundred after one. I somehow don’t think the power company would be understanding to get a check for a dollar eighty-five. Just a guess.
So, until Saturday, I’ve decided to play hookie from writing, editing and anything that remotely involves brain power. Time to catch up on mindless TV and break out the Nook. I’m so behind on my reading it’s not even funny.
*pats brain* I happen to like my brain. Giving it a much needed rest will show it how much I love it. I hope.
But if it’s still on Strike Saturday, I might have to remind it just who’s in charge … I just hope that’s me. 😉
Have a great weekend everyone. And be good to your brains. You don’t want picketing brain matter filling your skull. 😀
