Cover Love, ONE NIGHT TO CHANGE – m/m eRom

onenighttochange_msr One Night to Change now has a cover!

Woohoo! My m/m eRom Quickie should be getting a release date here soon. Isn’t it shiny?

This is a hot little paranormal short which I did mostly for the fun of it. Its a friends to lovers story involving one very controlled werelion and a bold vampire.

I really liked this little short. It was fun to write and the characters amused me to no end. I hope to revisit these two characters in the future, they were tons of fun.

*pets shiny new cover*

Anyway that’s my brief news for the day. Have a great weekend.

Guest Elise Hepner, Erotic Romance Author- Fairytale Hotties!

Fairytale Hotties

Today, C.M. was nice enough to host me in on her blog so I could talk about the sweet and wickedly hot heroes of fairy tales. A majority of these are movie heroes because I don’t want random strangers peeking into my head to look at what book heroes look like inside my head—they’re mine and you can’t have them. Plus, I imagine that would be bad for my brain. And I need for writing. But believe me when I say, my imagination doesn’t skimp on anything.

Without further ado here are my tried and true collection of fairy tale hotties:

James Marsden as Prince Charming in Enchanted:

This movie holds a very special place in my heart. Back when DH was my boyfriend we went to go see it together on our trip to Disney World on our two year anniversary. This was also the night he gave me my promise ring and told me basically “This is it, us, I’m done” but a lot prettier than that. So a year and a half later when he proposed and it was time to get married, I used the ballroom song from Enchanted as our first dance. I love the whole concept of Prince Charming in this movie, puffy sleeves and all, and I’m glad he got his happily ever after even without the fair maiden. Plus, hello, he’s drool worthy as hell!

James MacAvoy as Max/Johnny in Penelope

I don’t know what my fascination with James’s are today, but I can’t turn down a musical bad boy who wants to do right so badly in this quirky fairytale. From the moment he opened his mouth in this movie, I was smitten. And the way he has this particular look about him, as if he can see inside to the deepest part of a woman. Gut wrenching sexiness. He completely swept me off my feet in this movie even if he had no castle or gold to offer Penelope, his love was certainly enough. Though I think I’d want a little more than love, like some shirtless, pants less action. That sounds about right.

Flynn Rider voiced by Zachery Levi

I’ve got to admit…I’ve got a small thing for an animated character. I don’t know who this Zachery Levi person is, but he brought Flynn to life. So much so that I wish he was real so he could throw his wit and sarcasm my way and we would banter until dawn. *swoon*. Unfortunately, he’s a pretty piece of paper or CGI somewhere in the Disney studios made with super vibrant colors and someone with a penchant for Zachery Quinto eyebrows. So no such luck in getting him near me any time soon. But maybe if I wish upon a star? That’s supposed to make dreams come true, at least that’s how it happens in all the fairytales I know of. I think tonight I have a date with a shiny star and some wine.

Max Irons as Henry in Red Riding Hood

I’m so, so sorry to say that I went to see this movie in theaters. Dear God it was awful from start to finish and if I hadn’t paid an arm and a leg to watch this, I would have walked out. People all around the theater were bantering, making fun of it, and laughing at the tribal dance scene. The only thing that made the big screen worth my time was Max in all his “Am I or Am I not the Werewolf?” glory. And Red was an idiot for not seeing the incredible hotness, protectiveness, and all around good man that wanted to marry her. He was the perfect man aside from his deep need to kill paranormal, giant wolves. But hey, maybe we could make it work if he came back a little sweaty and dirty from a hunt…yeah…I’m okay with that picture. Thank God for Max Irons. That’s all I’ve got to say.

Title: Not So Pure

Publisher: Ellora’s Cave

Erotic Romance ebook

White runs from her prison of a past and enters into a sexual deal with seven men that alters the course of her life for eternity. Caught between her need to take control and making up for her serious lack of good sex, she enters a wonderland of kinky possibilities with men who show her that Prince Charmings come in all shapes and sizes. For White and her men—once upon a time doesn’t cut it—three or four times sound just about right.
With each partner—not always one at a time—White beats back her trust issues. But the shadow of her past comes back to haunt them all. Now she must introduce them to her personal battle, hoping they’ll fight beside her as their sinful nights turn into hellish days. Happily ever after isn’t by the books anymore.

Bright morning sunshine filtered through the trees, casting warmth all over her dirty body, and not bothering to look down at herself, she continued to pick her way through the forest. The light breeze blowing against her cheek was thick with scents from the night before—blooming night jasmine and sweat. She gritted her teeth against the nausea rooted in her stomach and noticed the fine shaking running up her bare thighs. How long could she go without food or water before she passed out? Her last meal had been yesterday afternoon, would that be enough? She didn’t know.A plan was paramount.

She heard stories of men out here. They all lived together outside of town, away from the glitz and glamour of the city. Would they help or not? Either she found the nearest path back to a main road or she searched for a random cottage. There was no way to tell which would be easier.

Why had she even gone with Huntsman! This train of thought would get her nowhere and at least she was out of the house. She quickly stopped questioning and made a choice.

She would try to find the infamous cottage in the woods.

The reasoning was simple enough. It was logically easier to persuade a few people to help her out than walking to town and relying on a larger group of people. With more people, the odds of them saying no went up. Townspeople had that “who me?” aspect to them that made ignorance bliss. So many people would probably glance out of the corner of their eye at her begging and hurry along because of the implications of helping street filth.

And that’s what she looked like right now. With no money, no prospects and no work experience, so she had to start from scratch—there wasn’t much else but pity to fall back on.

This wasn’t a fairytale where someone would slip money into her hand and offer her a warm bed for the night. Most people were too selfish. White was better off going one-on-one with a group of men who’d already shed society’s rules by living in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, the trip was neither close nor easy.

Now she was caked in god-knows-what, looking toward the morning sky and waiting for a cottage to come in sight. What other option did she have? There was no indication of what awaited her there. But it had to be better than what was back in the woods—embracing destiny and all that jazz.

Or running away from it,” she mumbled.

All the same. But it was hard to ignore her survival instincts. They had at least gotten her out of that prison and from now on it was her own way or she could bolt if she wanted to. Yet, this was the first time she’d been out of the house in how long? For a second her whole world rotated a hundred and eighty degrees.

The fresh air was joyous as it whipped around her half-naked body. It moved along the sensitive nape of her neck and brushed lightly against her shoulders and her spine. Inside her head it was peaceful and maddening all at once. Sure, she could do whatever she wanted now—that was a relief—but she couldn’t do anything without a good meal. So technically, she still didn’t have half as much independence as she would have liked.

When the sun came through the breaks at the top of the tree-line, the outline of a house was illuminated and she tried to hold back her curiosity. Her stomach plunged as nervous butterflies fluttered in her abdomen and she crossed her arms around her waist. This must be the place, they had an auto body shop and car parts were spread everywhere.

Everyone in town knew about the men who lived in the woods to get away from the catty glitz of the real world. People said the men lived in a fairytale. White believed it when she had the chance to examine the cottage up close. Aquamarine windows lined with chipped, coal black casings glistened with grease. There was a sloping roof with red tinted shingles, though some were missing in a weird pattern.

No one did the place justice—because it was a complete mess

Why would they need a door with bars on the peep-hole window? Were there normally robberies in the middle of a forest?

They topped it all off with a yard of rusted metal—which made sense because they were rumored to be mechanics. But motorcycle parts, engines, and tires laying out on the lawn without rhyme or reason? She supposed everyone had to have a hobby.

White gingerly sidestepped her way through the car parts. The scent of cooked meat beckoned her closer toward the door and her stomach twisted with hunger. Caught between the need to bang on the door or to let herself inside—damn the consequences—she settled for something in between both actions.

Hey!” White shouted, throat burning with thirst. “Can I get a little help out here?”

She moved toward the door when she heard footsteps because moving backward was cowardly. A man, judging by his broad shoulders. He peered through the window. Barred rectangular shadows hollowed his face and forehead. He slightly opened the door to peek out at her with suspicion through the small crack.

Maybe she had been expecting a deformity because they lived in the middle of nowhere. But when she searched his face for a pockmark or fake eye, all that she could see was the bone structure of a model with a little bit of scruff on his chin. His amber brown eyes narrowed. Wasn’t she the one who should be suspicious?

A tiny tremor shot up her spine when he opened the door all the way and eased his toned, sculpted frame through the gap. No peg leg either. From what she could see, he was all there. A perfect specimen. She absently rubbed the fuzz on her head, wondering why men did it electively. Like the stranger in front of her with white blond hair buzzed to his scalp. She dropped her hand and tightened her jaw.

He squinted at her because the sun was directly in his eyes. It meant he stood somewhere in the range of six-feet-four-inches with a high metabolism as evidenced by his lithe, muscular build. He rolled his shoulders, hands ducking into the pockets of a pair of brown corduroys. The cotton shirt he had on exuded spicy, musky man smell and she shifted from foot to foot.

Are you willing to help me?”

It depends on what you want and why you’re here.” His voice came out in a guttural lullaby. “Not many people venture out here without a car.”

He gave her a cursory once over with his eyes.

And you really don’t have much of anything.”

I just want some food and to get some sleep. It’s been a long night.” She crossed her arms, acting like his answer didn’t define the next few minutes. “I’ll be out of your house by morning if I can help it.”

Where are your clothes?”

Long story, but at least I have underwear, right?”

His gaze snapped up and down with heat flickering in his tawny pupils. That look was familiar, lust was easy to pinpoint. He wanted her even if he didn’t know it yet. So, there was a foothold now and she was going to take advantage of it.

If this is what it took to get some food, then so be it. Weirder things had transpired at the mansion—and worse things had been traded for drugs. Besides, whoever got anything in life for free?

A simple flashing wouldn’t do her any harm. She hadn’t seen anyone react to her body who wasn’t coked up or twice her age in awhile and deep inside she enjoyed knowing that he wanted her. A little thrill made her heart beat faster—no one else would see her half naked—they were in the middle of a forest. But the idea that someone could see turned her on more than she’d like to admit.

There was no getting around the fact that he was hot.

She uncrossed her arms and let them rest by her sides, giving him an eyeful of her breasts. Without pausing, he was by her side, offering his shirt with an outstretched hand.

W—what?” she stammered, uncertain.

I’d feel more comfortable talking to you if you were dressed.”

Interview: Author Kim Knox, Magnetism is Sexy!

I’m on a roll this month. Two of my friends have books coming out and both agreed to an interview. They must like me.

For those unfamiliar with Ms. Knox work, you’re really missing out. Her stuff is hot, sexy, and sci-fi. Plus, out of all my writing friends, Kim writes sexual tension like nobody’s business. One of these day, I’m really going to have to pick her brain, but today is all about her newest book, Magnetism, the first in her Planetary Bodies series.

CM: Hey Kim, so glad you agreed to chat with me. Sci-fi seems to be your first love. What is it about the genre that draws you?

KK: Thanks for asking me 😀

I think SF pulls me because you can do anything you want…and not have to worry about anachronisms!  I discovered the joy of SF after writing fantasy for a good while.  It was completely freeing.  No worry about a word sounding out of place or off.  And then there are the guns and the spaceships and the hot SF men… *happy sigh*.  Which brings me to the embarrassing fact that I had a big problem adding romance to my stories. I was set in my fantasy ways.  Though I broke that personal writing taboo too. Oh and sex.  Sex took me an age to work into the ideas running through my head.  Sex in SF came easily.  Yes, I will go there with the punning…

With SFR I get to play the endless permutations of explosions, mayhem, advanced tech, hot men and heroines who love to get dirty with them.  And did I mention the hot SF men??

CM: Orlen Sol is the main character in Magnetism. What made her and her hero Dareh Andersen, stand out as must-write characters?

KK: I was reading Mining the Sky – I’m a science book reference junkie – and the scenario of sending ships out to mine Uranus for its helium and hydrogen simply hit me.  I scribbled notes and worked out who I had to play with.  Orlena and Dareh jumped out first.  Orlena was fairly new to the ship and didn’t know all the myths that surround the atmos.miners.  I needed her lack of knowledge to start the series.  Sounds very clinical, doesn’t it?  Should I throw all that out and say that the thought of Dareh Andersen confused and very naked in a corridor started the whole thing…?

CM: So, Magnetism is the first in a series. How many do you plan and will you be using the same characters throughout?

KK: Not all the same, no.  It’s the first time I’ve ever written a series and I have 5 books planned. There’s a crew of six on the CMC Theseus and they were all aboard when the…event…happened. Writing different, but linked characters, gives me a chance to move around life on the Uranian moons and explore different aspects. It’s fun.

CM: I just read the excerpt and it sounds great. Seems to me like you’ll be playing with reality and dreams a bit. Sounds like great fun. Did you have trouble keeping the reader grounded or did you play up the uncertainty and take the reader along for the ride?

KK: Wow, that question’s got me thinking! I think you struck a theme 😀 I often like to explore the idea of what a character can’t have, what they want and what is tantalisingly just out of reach.  Am I SF to the core wanting to play with reality?

CM: You are awesome on a stick! Go ahead and pimp yourself, Babe.

KK: lol thanks 🙂

Here’s the blurb for Magnetism: Book one in the Planetary Bodies series.

Orlena Sol is not meant to be in her room, naked…with her superior officer.

The crew of the CMC Theseus doesn’t have sex. At least not with each other. But there’s a new hunger in Dareh Andersen and he’s looking at Orlena as if she’s all too edible. He’s ready to fulfill her fantasies, which makes no sense. He’s always wanted anyone but her.

Orlena is convinced there’s more to his sudden interest. She fears his desire is simply a dream, a lie. Something other, something outside and beyond them is at work…but it’s a force she doesn’t want to fight.

You can can buy Magnetism here http://www.jasminejade.com/p-9115-magnetism.aspx and read the excerpt CM mentioned here http://www.jasminejade.com/p-9115-magnetism.aspx

CM: And because I’m greedy like that, can you give us a little hint as what’s to come in the Planetary Bodies Series?

KK: All the books are named after terms in physics.  I never gave the science credit for being quite so lewd.  Magnetism, Friction, Current, Fusion and Frequency.

Friction – Book 2 of the series – has already been contracted by Ellora’s Cave. I got to hang out with a very deliciously wicked hero.  Who says writing isn’t fun sometimes?

Here’s the unofficial blurb for Friction and a snippet.

A deal is a deal.

But when that deal is to appear in Tomas Thorne’s office ready to offer herself for his…consumption, Shan Rayner runs, hides and has no intention of going through with it.  That is until she’s hit by sheen, a turbulent force from the Uranian lower atmosphere.  A force that brings her darkest desires to the surface.

Need swamps her and she finds herself outside his office and all too ready to agree to anything he wants. Absolutely anything.

Unedited snippet:

She couldn’t help her sour laugh.  “Do you ever give a straight answer?”

Thorne teased his thumb across her bottom lip, light and tantalising.  “Would you want that, Shankara?  For me to be just like every other man?  One cowed by you?”  His mouth hovered over hers, his breath warm and sweet, the promise of his kiss so close her hearth thudded and the quick push of need low in her belly tightened her flesh.  “Or would you prefer me as I am?”

Arrogant beyond measure?”

She couldn’t help it, she closed her eyes, the dark pleasure of his voice sinking deep.  “Why, Thorne?”

Business after, pleasure first.”  He took her hand and guided it to his waist.  The satin warmth of firm muscle caught her breath and she brushed her mouth all too briefly against his.  His order was just as firm.  “Get me naked.”

CM: Ooh great blurb and snippet! You’re spoiling me!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Oh, and I am serious about picking your brain. You’re just too sexy to let go now that I have my claws into you. 😀

KK: Thanks for having me 🙂

And claws… *sigh*

You had to remind me of my obsession with Wolverine, didn’t you? When I was weening myself off him and everything.  *Fires up pics of naked Logan*  Sorry, I may be some time…

CM: Just because I love you, here are some images to drool over. Hugh Jackman anyone?

Interview: Author Voirey Linger, Angels and more.

Hello my all too kind readers, today I give you a very special treat. My friend, Voirey Linger has agreed to let me interview her. She must really like me because in the world of blogs I’m a boring blogger. lol

CM: Hi Hon. So, how does it feel to be able to say you’ve sold yourself twice? Er, I mean, sold two books, of course.

VL: What they say is true… It doesn’t hurt as much the second time. The thrill of that first sale was special, but I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, so there was a lot of floundering. This time I’m able to enjoy it a little more.

CM: What’s been your favorite part of the publishing process?

VL: I think my favorite part will always be the writing. Having the story come to me, getting to know the characters, that first trip down the story pathway…it’s a rush and I love it.

CM: Man, that cover is SMOKIN’ hot. I’m in love. Is that how you see Ren, your main character in Forsaking Eternity?

VL: It’s very close. Syneca has been my cover artist for both books and I think she’s done an excellent job of bringing my angels to life.

CM: Both of your books feature angelic heroes. Out of Ren and Dom which of them did you enjoy writing the most? Who was the most challenging character to write?

VL: Wow… I’m not sure that’s a fair question. When I was writing Dom, I loved him. When I was writing Ren, I loved him. I have to love my heros to write them, have to be wholly invested in that one couple to bring them to life. Once I’m done with a book, that fades, I move on to the next book, the next couple and all that love moves on, too. I can’t say I really enjoy one story more than another, because they are all a part of me.

As for challenging, Meela is becoming the challenging one. She hasn’t had a chance to show it yet, but she’s got a lot of depth and is provng to be a very interesting character.

CM: Just because I’m curious, how much world building did you do before you wrote Dom’s story, Risking Eternity, or did the world sort of build itself while you wrote it?

VL: I always have the world before I write. Worldbuilding and plotting are in place before I tackle a story of any length. Sometimes I’ll write a random scene to help with character building, but as far as actual story goes, not until I know how everything works.

For the angels, worldbuilding felt very natural. I didn’t have to debate too many questions. I knew I wanted to make my angels the kind of angels I’d grown up with. Being a pastor’s kid, this meant a very Biblical basis for them, so I relied on Judeo-Christian myth and tradition as well as actual Biblical reference. Since I was brought up on this stuff, the wor;d was already in my head. It had been taught and nurtured from childhood.

There were two points where I strayed from my childhood teachings, and I did so very deliberately. The first was what classified as a sin worthy of Hell. I had to relax that boundary to keep maggie alive long enough to have a story. The other was angel sexuality. I needed angels to be sexual beings, and it didn’t strike me as realistic that an angel who had been alive since before time would suddenly discover sexuality. They needed to be sexual creatures.

CM: Angels are hot and juicy, you have me addicted. Do you plan any others angel novels or novellas?

VL: I do, actually. And no, I’m not telling. Okay, just a hint of an idea… a question really: Can a demon find forgiveness and redemption?

CM: Forsaking Eternity was your first m/m story. What did you find was the most challenging part of writing m/m?

Everything? LOL . M/m was never my thing. I didn’t read it, didn’t write it, wasn’t interested in it. When i finished RE, I was asked if I was going to write Ren and I said no, because I knew that Ren would have a guy and I didn’t do m/m. But I’ve always said that no matter what, when a story comes to me I have to be true to it and write it as it needs to be written, not as I want it to be.Ren’s story came to me so I read some m/m, got familiar with the genre, and I wrote.

I’m not going to say it was an easy transition. Mechanics didn’t flow as easily and I have a lot of scene fails in my trash bin. This one relatively short book took me close to a year to write. But once I got things sorted in my head, it all flowed.

CM: As a huge fan of m/m, could I convince you (I will toss in free chocolate if I must) to write another m/m story?

VL: Did someone say chocolate?

CM: Okay, so tell us all about your newest novel. Pimp yourself, Babe. 😉

VL: Forsaking Eternity is about an angel with a serious case of bi-curiosity. After being kissed by another male, he realized that it turned him on a whole lot more than the females he’d been with. Homosexuality is a social sin in Heaven, so he takes his experimenting to earth, planning nothing more than a one-time fling with an interested man. When he meets Adam, the attraction is instantaneous. He wants more than a fling but he knows nothing can come of the relationship. To complicate matters further, he’s assigned the job of finding a lost Law scroll, and the Law on it could transform his growing love for Adam from a social sin to a sin in truth.

CM: I really love how Ren became such a full and fleshed out character in Forsaking Eternity after being such a dick in the first book. Did you know all this about his character while writing book one?

VL: Actually I did. While he came across as a dick in RE, in reality he was just trying to save his best friend and do what was right. He has a very strict idea of right and wrong. There is no gray area in his mind. In FE I wanted to challenge that sense of black and white legality a little bit, make him have to make some choices. I think those challenges to his personal morality really formed the backbone of this book.

CM: I think I’ve bugged you enough. I have to let you get back to writing more deliciously juicy novellas for me to devour. If you’re taking requests, more angels and m/m would be nice. 😕 Oh, did I say that out loud?

VL: You did, but you’ll have to wait. I have another trick up my sleeve, coming soon to an e-reader near you…

CM: LOL Thanks again for your time, Hon.
